ResNet is a segment of the University network dedicated to the students living on campus. It is a high speed Internet connection that does not tie up your phone line. Students are able to share files with each other, chat online, browse the web and use almost every resource available on the web, right in their room.

ResNET Requirements

In order to connect a student computer to ResNET, several hardware requirements must be met. These requirements are:

Network / ethernet card
Ethernet cards are included with most computers purchased within the last 2 years.

Network / ethernet cable
A standard ethernet (CAT-5) cable is required to connect your computer to the ResNET wall jack.

Network Hub
A hub is the same concept as a cable splitter - it splits access from a single network jack to more than one computer. Thus a hub is only required if more than one student per room wants to connect his/her computer to a single ResNET wall jack.
