A Message for Faculty from the Office of Information Technology

With the wide availability of course-related software and technology support on campus, and the pending upgrade to WebCT Vista, our goal is that every course at the university will have some kind of web component. Faculty do not need a lot of technology training or experience to establish presences in cyberspace, nor do these presences need to be extensive. With little difficulty, instructors can post syllabi, course outlines, lecture notes, discussion questions, assignments, links, and other educational materials online for students to access. As always, IT and our STARS students will be happy to support any faculty interested in getting course materials online.

One of the tools available, the MySCSU Course Studio, provides a user-friendly interface for creating web content and facilitating online communication both with and among students. The newsletter page “Introducing the MySCSU Course Studio” (accessible below) describes the capabilities of the MySCSU Course Studio in greater detail.
